Butterfly
In Northwest Coast art, the butterfly is a symbol of transformation, as it is in many cultures. Undergoing its metamorphosis with grace, the butterfly also symbolizes balance and harmony. The beauty of nature can be seen in the many colours of the butterfly.
Travis Henry
Travis Henry, born in Cowichan, BC on Vancouver Island, has been carving since 1982. He was trained by the Seaweed family, who are well known and respected carvers from Alert Bay.
