“walk through the bamboo forest”
The bamboo forest speaks in a whisper. Each breeze nudges the trees into a swaying, crisscrossing rhythm. We first heard this natural lullaby during a walk in Kyoto. This experience was later explored through paper origami, which inspired the undulating pattern of the Zigzag series.
Our zigzag series silver earrings draws on this inspiration with crisp, folded edges giving these pieces a subtle edge, while the pleated surface constantly engages the light. From day to evening, their sharp elegance is never out of place.
Designers Hiroko Kobayashi and Neil Prakash have practiced architecture at some of the world’s most respected firms, including Kengo Kuma & Associates and Nick Milkovich Architects Inc. with Arthur Erickson.
Since 2009, they have translated their modern aesthetic to the scale of the body, as well as the building site. Each piece of jewelry is a miniature study in architectural balance: considering light, space and form to exacting standards.
